The minutes of March 21, 2007 were approved.
Water shut-offs will not occur this week as the water department is short handed.
Discussion was held to the good response to the water shut-off notices with only five out of fifteen accounts left to pay with the other accounts either paying their balance in full or payment on account and new agreements in place.
Consider Water Hydrant Fees
The Town as a whole will pay the Water District for fire capacity. It has been suggested that the fee will be based on the 86 hydrants in Pittsford at $260 per hydrant. It will be raised from general fund taxes. T. Hooker explained that at the present, the Town water users are paying for the whole Town's water fire protection. The hydrants are color coded as follows: blue is excellent; yellow is OK; and red is no pumping. The fee would be redistribute the responsibility for fire protection to the whole the Town. Most towns have a Water Hydrant Ordinance in place with approximately 50% listing the fee at $260 per hydrant. The funds would allow upgrading the hydrants.
The proposed water hydrant fee draft resolution was tabled for further consideration on the fee schedule.
With no further business, the Water Board adjourned at 7:11PM.
