OLD BUSINESS

Dedication Request

R. Adams reminded the Recreation Committee about a request he had received from a resident that Recreation Department "somehow" memorialize another long time resident who passed away. R. Adams reiterated that he felt it would be good if the Recreation Department put together a "formal" procedure for this type of request. He explained that a policy should be formed so all requests would be treated fair and equal. The Recreation Director asked the Committee to think about criteria again that should be included in such a policy and that the subject would be brought up at the next committee meeting.

FY 2009 Budget

At the last meeting R. Adams asked the Recreation Committee to think about the FY 2009 Recreation Department Budget and come to this October meeting with ideas & suggestions that would help formulate the proposed budget. R. Adams provided copies of the long and short term goals of the Recreation Area that they had re-familiarize themselves with the lists. Many different tasks, needs and wants, and personal preferences were discussed. The Recreation Director, when asked, said "hed still feels it's important for the Recreation Department to repair gates & fences around the swim pond. Number one he said was for safety concerns, there are some areas in the fence that could potentially cause harmful to folks. Secondly he said because a new fence would look more professional and would appeal to new visitors."

Pumpkin Party, October 13 (10:00-11:30 am)

R. Adams reminded the Recreation Committee about the upcoming Pittsford Pumpkin Party at the Recreation Area. Again he stated that he was looking for volunteers to help during the program. He needed extra helpers to assist the children decorate pumpkins, do facing painting, serve refreshments, and help with the hay ride, etc.
