Town of Pittsford CANNABIS BOARD – February 15, 2023 – DRAFT
MEMBERS PRESENT: Alicia Malay, W. Joseph Gagnon, David Mills, and Thomas Hooker. ABSENT: Mark Winslow. OTHERS PRESENT: Shawn Hendee, Ann Reed, Kelly Giard – Recording Secretary.
The Cannabis Board was called to order at 7:06 PM by Chair Malay.
Shawn Hendee was present to discuss the request from APEX who will be operating a cannabis processing facility within the town Water and Sewer system. There was communication with the State prior to discussing with the Cannabis Board and there is a phosphorus concern with the effluent causing some adverse effect at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. D. Mills inquired if this was a growing facility, which the current plan is to be a growing facility. D. Mills stated that he feels that more information is needed before a decision can be made. S. Hendee stated that the state permitting is nearing completion and the anticipated opening date was January 20, 2023. D. Mills stated that the decision should be temporary and contingent on the impact at the facility. Shawn Hendee stated that monthly testing will be required to identify any issues and that there was wording in the ordinance that states no damage can be caused to the facility from discharge.
Motion by T. Hooker and seconded by A. Malay to issue a letter in response to the request from APEX and to include the ordinance in the letter. Motion passed 4 – 0.
The Cannabis Board adjourned at 7:20 PM.
