Vice Chairman Pelkey called the meeting to order at 6:40 PM.
Adoption of Agenda:
J. Haverstock stated that there was no need for Executive Session.
J. Haverstock reported that there was no need to amend the agenda. Motion by T. Pelkey and seconded by B. Morgan to adopt the agenda as posted. Motion passed unanimously 5 – 0.
Minutes:
The minutes of the May 21, 2019 meeting were signed with no changes.
Town Manager’s Report:
J. Haverstock stated the following Town Manager’s Report:
Bruce Babcock and Shawn Hendee are currently working on the meter readings for the current billing cycle. Rate adjustments will be completed following the Depot Hill project completion. Otter Creek Engineering will assist.
Jack Shedd will be retiring on August 2, 2019.

WATER:
Discussion Possible Acquisition of Land Around Town Reservoirs:
Bruce Babcock and Shawn Hendee have visited the area and flagged the area that is being considered for purchase. The next steps include visiting the site that is flagged, surveying the area, negotiating a purchase price, retaining an attorney for the deed work and purchasing the property.
Update on Route 7, Segment 1 Conflicts:
J. Haverstock explained that Rep. Shaw has spoken with VTrans who stated that they are not in a position for complete forgiveness of the project, however, they are considering a significant discount on the proposed $112,000 cost.
SEWER:
Update on Depot Hill Road Sewer Project Status:
J. Haverstock stated that the environmental permits have been obtained; the design work is in progress; the soil boring has occurred, however, there was a water line that was hit and repaired during the boring.
WATER AND SEWER:
Update on Route 7, Segment 2 Design:
J. Haverstock reported that a Request for Qualifications from engineering firms is required by the State Funding Agency. The draft of this RFQ was read. C. Greeno and B. Morgan agreed to work on interviewing the engineering firms when the submissions are received.
The Water & Sewer Commission adjourned at 7:02 PM.
The July meeting will be cancelled and the next regular meeting of the Water and Sewer Commission will be held on August 20, 2019.
