Meeting Minutes : Public Hearing on Hazard Mitigation Plan

The meeting was called to order at 7:03PM by Thomas “Hank” Pelkey, Chairman.

Select Board members present:  Jane Cornell, W. Joseph Gagnon, David Trombley, Thomas Hooker and Thomas “Hank” Pelkey.  Also present: Mike Warfle, Dave Soulia,  Ann Rademacher,  John Haverstock, Elysa Smigielski and Kelly Giard – Recording Secretary.

This is a Public Hearing and Review of the Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Elysa Smigielski from the Rutland Regional Planning Commission was present to discuss the Hazard Mitigation Plan and the steps that are required for adoption.

The revisions, if any, will be done following FEMA review.  This is a document that needs to be updated every 5 years and grant funding is dependent on having current documents in place.

J. Haverstock stated that the past Hazard Mitigation Plan was part of the Rutland Regional Planning Commission document.   However, FEMA is now requiring each town to have independent plans.

The Hearing closed at 7:08 PM.
