PITTSFORD RECREATION DEPARTMENT
MINUTES OF March 19, 2013
PITTSFORD TOWN OFFICES
@ 6:30 pm
Meeting was called to order by Rob Ketcham at 6:40 pm. Members of the Recreation Committee who were present include Bill Crossmon, Mark Poljacik, Kathy Shortsleeves, John White and Mark Winslow.
Recreation Director Randy Adams was also present.
Recreation Committee member Jenny Parker and was not present.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
The minutes of February 12, 2013 were read and accepted. K. Shortsleeves made the motion to accept the minutes as read.
B. Crossmon seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
RECREATION DIRECTOR’S REPORT
R. Adams presented his March 2013 report to the committee. The Recreation Director was happy to report that the Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Summer Music Concert Series with 3 to 4 acts scheduled to play.
OLD BUSINESS
Community Center Idea
The Recreation Committee agrees that a Community Center would be a value asset to the town. There was discussion as to the over costs of the project. Different ideas where brainstormed. R. Ketcham stated that he felt the town biggest need is a gym.
Memorial Day Parade Ideas
The Town Manager John Haverstock asked for ideas for possible Memorial Day Parade coordinator. The Recreation Director stated that anyone who wishes to help out with the Memorial Day activities can contact the Town Manager or Fire Chief Tom Hooker directly.
NEW BUSINESS
Committee Appointments (Chairman & Vice Chair)
Since this was the 1st Recreation Committee meeting after Town Meeting, the Recreation Committee had to elect a Chairperson and a Vice Chairperson. M. Winslow made the motion to re-elect Rob Ketcham as Chairman.
M. Poljacik seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
M. Winslow made the motion to re-elect Kathy Shortsleeves as Vice-Chairman.
M. Poljacik seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
R. Adams will forward these recommendations to the Select Board for their approval.
2013 Recreation Area Fees
R. Adams stated that after the 2010 Group Fee increases and the increasing of the annual Swim Area Season pass fee in 2012 that there was no need to adjust prices at this time.
K. Shortsleeves made the motion to recommend to the Select Board to keep the 2013 Swim Area Season Pass and Group Fees the same as 2012.
M. Winslow seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

With no further business to discuss, M. Winslow made the motion to adjourn the meeting.
M. Poljacik seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm.
