RECREATION DIRECTOR’S REPORT
R. Adams presented his February Report to the committee. Based on the discussion from the January meeting the Recreation Director electronically released the February Teen Dance information approximately two weeks before the event. M. Winslow had said he had “heard that the some of the kids at Otter Valley did not find out about the December Teen Dance until a day or two before the event. He asked the Recreation Director to think about alterative ways he could inform the students at OV sooner.” R. Adams believes his blanket e-mail will help ensure the information to reach our target audience.
OLD BUSINESS

R. Adams is getting ready to write letter to potential donor to help off set fieldwork costs.
Town of Pittsford’s new website “www. pittsfordvermont.com”
The Recreation Director reminded the Recreation Committee to take a look at the town’s new website. He said the Pittsford Trails page should be finished soon and available for folks to use.
Recreation Committee Meeting Days & Times
Based on feedback at the December 2009 Recreation Committee meeting the Recreation Director asked the Recreation Committee at the January meeting if they wanted to keep meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm like we’ve traditionally done. Recreation Committee members present indicated that they did wish to stay at its normal day and time. The Recreation Director again pointed out the importance of getting a quorum for each and every Recreation Committee meeting this year.
NEW BUSINESS
Summer Programs
The Recreation Director indicated that Heather Durkel will be returning again as the 2010 Summer Day Camp Director.
All Other Business
R. Adams was approached by the Pittsford Historical Society asked if the Recreation Department would be interested in sponsoring a town wide garage/lawn sale. They also wanted the Recreation Director to find out if the Pittsford Seniors would cosponsor too. The Historical Society will be having their annual lawn sale the third Saturday of June, making it June 19, 2010 would be the date. J. Parker asked if there would be places for residents who don’t live accessible area to bring the sale items to sell? K. Shortsleeves wanted to know if the Recreation Department was the point contact if they would hand out a list of lawn sale addresses. The Recreation Director suggested that a sub-committee be formed to work out the finer details.
Recreation Director asked K. Shortsleeves to his office after the meeting so they could look for ticket prices to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the “Rockettes” in the early fall of 2010.
With no further business to discuss, K. Shortsleeves made the motion to adjourn the meeting.
K. Brown seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
