Thomas “Hank” Pelkey opened the meeting at 7:35 PM. Water Board members present were: Thomas “Hank” Pelkey, Allen Hitchcock, Joseph Gagnon, David Markowski, and Thomas Hooker. Also present were Michael Balch, Linda Drummond, Tom Carrara, Wayne Rowe, and Robin Rowe.
Discussion was held about the structure of the Water Board. A. Hitchcock proposed a combined Water & Sewer Board with two Select Board members and three representatives from residents who are users of the Town water(which includes Florence)/and or Town sewer systems. This new Board would be a separate entity from the Select Board meeting once a month with monthly reports listed on the agenda of the Select Board meetings. An advertisement will be drafted for review by the Board for water & sewer commissioners.
Robin Rowe asked if their water problem was a priority for the Town. Discussion was held in regards to Act 250 permit needs to be in place so that right of ways can be identified. At that point, Kevin Marshia, Roadway, Traffic and Safety Program Manager at the Agency of Transportation has indicated that he is willing to explore the placement of a new water main at the edge of the right of way on Route 7 South Section 1 of the Route 7 project. R. Rowe The anticipated passing of the Act 250 permit is in Spring 2007. Further discussion was held in regards to necessity hearings and right of ways.
With no further business, the Water Board adjourned at 7:55PM.
